一个不在同一平面上的四边形。 扭斜四边形对边中点的连线相交（且互相平分）(Steinhaus 1999)。

Schwarz (Schwarz 1890, Wells 1991) 使用 阿贝尔积分解决了寻找扭斜四边形最小边界面的问题，其形状为马鞍面。 它通过解以下方程给出

(1+f_y^2)f_(xx)-2f_xf_yf_(xy)+(1+f_x^2)f_(yy)=0.
